Antique PA American tall case clock automata rocking ship Antique PA American tall case clock automata rocking ship

SOLD

A Pennsylvania tall case clock circa 1800 with European 8 day automata rocking ship brass movement.  The case hand signed in large period script on the inside behind the movement "Adams County PA" and "William Brubaker" (presumably the owner, not the maker, judging from the handwritten note also found inside the case).  The note reads "This clock was the property of my grandfather (John Kefner), and is supposed by my mother (Sarah Brubaker) to now be about 100 years old.  December 1898 Ida B. Roonly" (sp?)  The clock measures approximately 95" tall.  Its widest point at the feet is about 20-3/4" wide.  It is about 11-1/4" deep.  The clock is in good running condition.
